TBYC Outstations - For Seasonal Updates - Click Here

In addition to Ekins Point, TBYC has maintained slips at four marinas, strategically located along well traveled boating routes on the Sunshine coast and Vancouver island. Slips are leased for the exclusive use of our members, ensuring that those who enjoy cruising the coast can do so as part of the benefits of membership.

Bowen Island

Bowen Island is only 8 nautical miles north-west of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Located on the east side of Bowen Island in Snug Cove, Union Steam Ship Co. Marina (USSC) offers a first class year-round facility featuring an historic turn of the century village.

TBYC has 4 slips available, 24 hours a day along B dock, (25,27,29,31) as well as one 90' slip located at the beginning of B dock (5 & 7). See map for reference. Members are required to pay for power at the office and log their stay on our website or use the logbook located not he dock.

The marina has 30 amp and 50 amp service, free Wi-Fi, water, laundry and showers in the boater's lounge. In addition, the marina offers a pump out station. Pay Parking is limited on the island.

NOTE: Bowen Island is exceptionally popular during the summer months and all slips are on a first come first serve basis.

TBYC is subletting several slips at our Outstations for the winter period (October to March/April). As members know, this strategy helps offset our annual outstation lease costs, reducing our overall expenses each year. Check for updates to ensure you know which slips are available before heading out.

Pender Harbour

Pender Harbour is a harbour on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast, on the east side of Malaspina Strait. Often called “the Venice of the North”, the harbour is an intricate amalgam of bays and coves that encroach inland for five kilometres and provide over sixty kilometres of shoreline.

TBYC has 100' of dock space at the Pender Harbour Resort and Marina, on the outside of the main float and rafting permitted.  Additionally, 2 50' slips D76 and D77 are available for club use. Shore power is also included in the rates and there is fresh water on the docks year-round. Parking is available in the gated compound.

A word about our Outstations

Our outstations have always operated on a first come basis.  If you expect to arrive late and call ahead to the Marina Operator, all you have done is reserve this space for a Thunderbird boat, not necessarily yours, as another member may arrive before you.  Similarly, if you decide to go out for a cruise or to fish, you may not leave a dinghy in place for you return later that day.  Any Thunderbird boat can take that space while you are gone.  TBYC burgees MUST BE FLOWN at all outstations. Members are requested to limit their stay at any one outstation to 3 days when busy so that others may enjoy the marina as well.  If rafting is permitted, members are reminded that this is a long standing tradition and members are requested to co-operate when asked.
