Again, sorry for the burst of communications, but we will be away most of March and much needs to be set up for the coming Spring.
You will see this pop up now and then, the Help Wanted Post, which will be asking for assistance on specific roles which need to occur prior to events. Taking the lead on projects is a wonderful way to meet and get known by the membership at large. It's really fun for the most part.
Getting help and volunteers at events is never a problem, we have a great club for that! But much needs to be done in preparation for a lot of activities to move smoothly. We're also hoping that some of the "regulars" will get a chance to take it easy this year as other members move to the front. That would be simply awesome!
SPRING WORK PARTY FOOD SERVICES COORDINATOR April 23rd.
Now that's a title! What is this? We need to feed the hard working guys and gals at lunch. We're looking for someone to take the lead and organize and execute the lunch. It's not too hard, but does require preplanning and logistics.
1. Purchasing food and beverages and transporting to Ekins. (All funds reimbursed promptly)
This means a Costco style run, ususally for hamburgers, buns, cole slaw, potatoe salad, water and other drinks. Plus the fixins, like ketchup, mustard, relish and mayo.
(We don't recommend doing a big potluck for this event, as it is chaotic and messy in and around the longhouse at the work party)
Prior to the event we will have a good handle on numbers.
2. Organizing the cooking team and setting up the tables for lunch, serving meals and basically making sure it all runs smoothly.
3. Organizing and leading in cleanup and removal of all lunch related garbage from Ekins.
That's it. Not super hard but needs to be done. We also need briquettes and paper towels brought to Ekins. All other supplies such as plates are in stock. This can be coordinated with other members, but we need a leader.
